An ambience all of its own
The Principality of Monaco occupies just two square kilometers at the Eastern tip of the Côte d’Azur, near the Italian border.
Yet its rare personality gives it a unique appeal.
Much more than just a casino
For gamblers and non-gamblers alike, the grand Monte Carlo Casino is a centre point of every visit. Build in 1878, this palatial venue has a marble atrium and gaming rooms lavishly decorated with frescoes.
The imposing building is also the centre of cultural activity. It includes the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo, an opera and ballet house, and serves as headquarters of the Ballets de Monte Carlo.
The perfect size for visitors
Monaco’s diminutive size means that everywhere is in easy reach. Strolling through the many small public gardens and the Old Town is a delight. So is the Prince’s Palace and the Palace Square.
We recommend the Oceanographic Museum for several reasons. It houses an exceptional aquarium. The top floor has the ‘La Terrasse’ restaurant where you have a fantastic view of Monaco and the Italiant coast during lunch.
The Museum is also the place to catch the Azur Express, a small tourist train that passes all the best attractions and leaves every 30 minutes.
Turning streets into racetracks
The Monaco Grand Prix (Grand Prix de Monaco) is a unique event held every May, where special infrastructure such as grandstands, crash-barriers converts the city’s streets into an exciting racing circuit.
Run since 1929, this event is widely considered to be ‘The jewel of the Formula One crown’ because of its history, spectacle and glamour.
When it comes to Event Management venues, it’s hard to beat the compactness and special attraction of Monaco.
